Camps 2011

All camps are one day 9:30 to 4:30. The cost is $65 for the day. Campers enjoy horseback riding, crafts, scavenger hunts, and activities with the horses, some great munchies and much more. Bring a lunch.

Lessons Blocks for 2011

Lessons are still going strong threw the winter. Payment is due each week through the winter for private or group lessons. Please remember there is a 24 HOUR POLICY in place for everyone. Note: If the weather is really cold, very windy etc. I will cancel for safety purposes.

March 21, 2011 to April 29, 2011 – Block is 6 weeks

May 2, 2011 to June 17, 2011 – Block is 7 weeks

July 4 2011 to July 29, 2011 – Block is 4 weeks

August 1, 2011 to September 2, 2011- Block is 5 weeks

August 1, 2011 to September 2, 2011- Block is 5 weeks

October 31 2011 to December 16, 2010 - Block is 7 weeks

Special Events

Musical Ride – Students who are riding through March and April will have the option to work on a Musical ride, present it to family and friends Saturday April 20, 2011. Students arrive at 10:00 presentations start at 11:00 (No Charge)

 

Annual Horse show – Students have the option to participate the show. Saturday June 18, 2011. The cost is $60 per student + HST. Riders arrive at the barn 8:30am to prepare their horses/ponies. Show starts at 10:00am. Riders are welcome to come out the evening before the show 6:00 to 7:30 to prepare the horses and equipment.

Cross Country Event – Saturday August 27, 2010 (NO charge) this event will take place early morning weather permitting. Students will have the opportunity t ride the cross country course as a timed event.

Halloween Party – Friday October 28, 2011 5:00 to 6:30 Students were invited to come out and dress up the horses and Ponies. After all is done enjoy a Halloween treat. (No Charge)

Clinic – Students are offered the opportunity to ride with an instructor visiting the farm. Students are offered the horse they normally ride to get different points of view and experience different styles of teaching. (Clinic takes place in the fall)

Theory Nights – participants learn about horses, this is a non-riding program covering hands-on material about horse heath, tack, feeding, care, exercise etc. the group runs for 45mins. Enjoy different professional who volunteer their time to come and educate us on their expertise. The charge is $2 for students and $10 for non- students. To be considered a student the individual must ride at Aspen Acres twice a month. This program has stopped for the winter but will start back up again after March break. This program runs Monday’s 6:45 to 7:30. The first session will start March 21, 2011. It will run to June 13 2011 (Last night for the spring). It will start again September 12, 2011 and run till November 28, 2011 (last one for the fall)

Grooming Program – It is always my goal to keep my lesson horses fit and schooled. I am offering/ looking for help. Friday evenings 6:00 to 8:30 pm two students are welcome to assistance me in exercising the crew. This involves, grooming, tacking warming some horses up and cooling down.

Volunteering – There are many different opportunities for volunteering at Aspen Acres.

Saturday morning chores – 8:00am to 10:00pm – Help with stalls and daily chores.

Help with a weekly lesson – one hour a week per lesson, I can always use an extra set of hands with the younger students.

Spend and extra hour in the evening grooming an individual who does not get a lot of attention.

I can always use an extra helper(s) for my camps. (9:30 to 4:30 )
